We’re bringing bubbles + music to the PDX Autism Walk!

Hi Reader!

We’re counting down to the Portland Autism Walk on April 27th, and we’re bringing our favorite things: bubbles, music, movement—and a few of our amazing team of neuro-affirming therapists. If you're planning to be there, we’d love to meet you!

Meet the Team Behind the Bubbles
Come find us at our play + connection station, where you’ll see:

🎶 Music Therapists Mikelia and Allison, ready to engage kids through rhythm, song and music exploration.

🌀 Occupational Therapist Emilee, creating joyful sensory moments and helping kids feel calm and confident.

🧸 Play Therapists Amber and Lahela, always ready with bubbles, toys, and a big dose of emotional attunement + support for parents.

Whether your child wants to jump right in or take it slow, we’ll be holding space for whatever their walk experience looks like. We're here to support playful, pressure-free connection—with your kid, and with you.

A Real-Parent Packing List
From our founder:
“When I take my neurodivergent kid to a big event (or any non-preferred space), I always pack a few anchors: noise-reducing headphones that can connect to Audible on my phone, some "safe" (favorite) foods, a ‘reset’ plan—like a walk back to the car or a cozy spot to regroup. And, most importantly, I try to leave behind the expectations that hit us parents hard--that our kids should look, move, and behave a certain way in order to fit in.”

✨ We’d love to hear from you—
What do you pack for events to help your kid feel safe and supported?
Hit reply and share your must-haves—we’re always learning from our community.

We hope to see you out there, and if your child needs to wave from a distance or hang close, that’s more than okay. We’ll be there, ready to meet them exactly where they are.

Warmly,
The Real Work Team 💛
